Update

Log store as we have now decided on a log boiler , we have asked for permisson to add another door way to the rear elevation, this will act as the main boiler room entrance, thereby eliminating smoke/ dust etc in the house. However, for the lazy snowy Sundays or Chelsie days we will add a door from the house too.
The log store will be stocked for the main boiler and the wood burning stove in the lounge

making the most of the wind on site or even why not be paid to be warm?

Turbine
I'm looking into a wind turbine to generate electricity...will the WMBC planning allow it though? We are unable to make the use of solar as our roof is not south facing and I am uncertain on the payback time of a Ground source heat pump. So..
We are also looking into a log boiler to power the underfloor heating and DHW.  Our thoughts are at the moment to look into linking the log stove in the lounge to the DHW.  This would then fulfill all the DHW and heating for only £500 ( at the most) /annum.  Along with the government grant for log burners of a pay back of aprox £1000/annum , what a welcome change being paid to heat your home!!
